Nejedly Staging Area – 3.75 miles, easy
This park comes in 4 parts, in the midst of private land, with a scenic drive connecting them.
From the ridgeline, you can see Martinez, Crocket Hills, and Benicia State Recreation Area. Several spur trails leads to benches with scenic views overlooking the strait.
Our hike on the Franklin Ridge Loop Trail included several of the spurs for a total of 3.75 miles.
George Miller Regional Trail
A large part of the scenic drive is open to cars, with the exception of the middle section; the George Miller Regional Trail is now open after a 30 year closure to hikers, cyclists, and equestrians! It is paved for the entire length and provides stunning views the strait. The San Francisco Bay Trail and Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail both funnel along the newly designated path.
